Jarrón chino de cerámica

550,00

Small enameled ceramic vase in white with blue patterns.

The vase presents on one side a dragon with legs ending in 5 claws (this type of representation is the oldest), surrounded by clouds on the back and neck of it.

According to Chinese tradition, the dragon is associated with good luck and the number 9. In fact there are 9 types of dragons. The one that appears in the vase, it is very likely that it is Shenlong, which is a spiritual dragon that controls rain and wind (hence the clouds that appear on the back), something very important for the cultivation and harvesting of crops.

The state of conservation is quite good, although it presents small normal wear in a piece that ends in the 16th century or the beginning of the 17th century.
