Ivory bracelet from Sumba island in Indonesia.

This type of bracelet was used as part of the trousseau that brides wear to marriage. They were also used, subsequently, as currency for the purchase of animals and household goods.

As seen in the photo, the bracelet has many traces and signs of use and an old patina.
