It has undergone a process of restoration, basically cleaning its polychrome. A small amulet of the Pende Ikoko culture in ivory, coming from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This amulet was worn hanging from the neck, both in magical and healing rituals against some disease of a member of the tribe, and for the initiation ceremony of the young boys. to return it to its original state.
This amulet pendant represents a face with large eyes with drooping eyelids, broad nose and mouth with thick lips; on the forehead a small incised cylindrical drawing, and touched in the form of three points. Very repeated representation in this type of pieces.
