English inkwell made with a horse's hoof. It is made with a silver metal mounting in the shape of a horse's hoof.
On the top it has a cover with the inscription of the name of the horse to which “Mammoth” belonged, dated 1929-1938 (surely it is the dates when this horse won races)
Inside it has a small container that serves as an inkwell.
At the bottom, it has a silver metal horseshoe.
These types of objects were supposed to be good luck charms.
These types of objects were very common in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and were made with the hoof of racehorses that had had a life of racing successes.
