The Dance of the Vanities by Jean Augustin Dubouloz

18.000

Magnificent painting by the 19th century French painter Jean Augustin Dubouloz (1800-1870). The painting is painted in oil on canvas with a gilded wooden frame, original from the period and a small silver plate with the painter's name and the date he lived. This painting represents the masterpiece of the 19th century painter, called The Dance of the Vanities, represents the frugality of life and earthly powers. All: rich, poor, noble, kings, queens, merchants, young and old people, are all called at the end of our lives to dance to the rhythm of death. In this painting we see how all these richly painted characters, stripped of their clothing, all dance to the rhythm of an orchestra of skeletons that calls them to pass at the end of the tunnel to the other side of life. The high quality of the painting and its excellent condition stand out, as it was re-stamped on the outer edges and the paint was cleaned by our restorers. An excellent piece with a very peculiar theme.
